oregon...days one and two

We just got back from a week in Oregon.  We were kind of on the fence about going this year, but after another possible adoption didn't happen, we decided to go.

The first day was a long day in the car.

We stopped in Hermiston for the night.  We ate pizza and swam in the hotel pool.  Two of our favorite things to do in a hotel!

The next morning we stopped to put flowers on my grandma's grave (she's buried in Hermiston).  I hadn't been back since her funeral, but remembered where to go (Kyle checked the map just in case, but I was right).

Then it was more driving.
We stopped at Multnomah Falls.  It was beautiful and green.

We jumped back in the car and headed to my all time favorite restaurant in Portland.
I've pretty much been dying to go since we were there last year.

No one will appreciate this but my family, but Mimi and Papa always talked about having ice cream included with their meal and it was back.

Then, we drove out to Motown (my hometown).  We showed the kids all the houses we lived in, drove by the spot where Papa's store used to be and drove by the house that I grew up in.

The rest of the afternoon, we spent shopping in Woodburn (no sales tax...wahoo!).  The boys swam in the hotel pool and went to bed, while I went and met one of my long time friends to chat for a couple of hours.
It was a fun day.
