I'm still going strong on taking a picture every day.

I don't want to post all of them, but here's a couple lately that crack me up.

The last 2 crack me up...Bosten is such a character, and I'm telling you, it seems like there's never a dull moment around here.

Tonight we were at the dinner table discussing who was going to bless the food.  Without being asked, Bosten closed his eyes and started (by himself):

"Heavenly Father.  Thanks for Mama..."

He opened his eyes looking for help to finish, so we helped him.  That was the first time he's done it by himself.  What a good boy!

Even though Valentine's Day is still a couple of weeks away, Kaden and I have been getting ready!

We made his Valentines for a party that's coming up (as it gets closer):

 Plus, its a fun way to practice writing his name!

 Today, we've been working on roses:

They're super easy, and turn out really cute.

Stuff you need:

-scissors

-cellophane wrap

-hershey's kisses

-sticks or dowels

-leaves

-floral tape

We've got a couple other projects going on too...but we can't tell all of our secrets just yet!

our favorite show

One of the boys' favorite shows right now is "Minute To Win It".  Its actually pretty funny to watch them watch it.  They're both cheering loud, and when the people accomplish the task?  Well, they both go crazy (screaming, jumping up and down, etc.)

Bosten has been saying this all the time:

a picture a day

So, one of my New Year's resolutions is to take at least one picture every day. It seems like time is going really fast, and I'm hoping that this will help me remember all of the little stuff that happens on a daily basis. Yes, the big events...trips, firsts, etc. are important (and will be included).

I also think that the every day stuff is important too. In fact, maybe more important, because its what our life and family is about. How is it working?

-take a picture (obviously)
-write down the date and what I took a picture of
-once a week, I upload it all to my album and journal a few sentences

I started January 1st, which was a Saturday, so my weeks are running Saturday-Friday.

These may not mean much to you, but they definitely do to us.  I'll keep you posted on how this project goes...

Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kerry have had "the best game ever" at their house. Kaden loves playing every time we go over. They don't really play it any more (except when Kaden's there), so we proposed a trade. We'd get Colby the expansion pack to some Legos he wanted, and we'd get the game.

They said DEAL, so we went and got it tonight.

Trust me, its been so great already, and we just got them!

Bosten has always been a snuggle bug.

He's the best at giving hugs (along with pats on the back).

He's always saying:
"Love you."
"Love you, Mama."
"I love you."

Lately, though, he's added this...

"Love you, Mama...so much."

I couldn't agree more.

grandma's funeral

I took a road trip this weekend to Oregon to attend my grandma's funeral. We (as in my parents and siblings) all went together in one car. We left Sunday morning, and got home late Monday night. It was a LONG way to go, 9+ hours each way, but we're so glad that we had good weather and that we made it safely.

You wouldn't believe some of the things we talked about, mostly thanks to my brother. But, what else do you do when all you have is this to look at?!

My parents and sisters...not sure why my brother didn't make it into any of the car pictures. It must have been because he was driving.


Anyway, the funeral was at the church in Hermiston, OR and then we went out to the cemetery following the service:

It was freezing at the cemetery. It was sunny though, and we weren't out there very long:

After the grave was dedicated, it was back to the church for lunch.

The menu was, of course, ham, baked potatoes, and green jello (along with lots of other stuff!)
It was really good, and a fun chance to visit with some family before heading for home.
