happy birthday, bosten

We celebrated Bosten's birthday a day early (Friday).  He was so excited that it was finally his party day.
He said he wanted a Cars birthday, so a Cars birthday is what we had.

Here's the invitation I made:

We had pizza for dinner:

Then Bosten got to open his gifts and have cake.  Bosten and Kyle both love ice cream cake, and since their birthdays are days apart we got a big one to celebrate both.  Kyle chose the inside.  Bosten chose the outside.

He had a great time and was spoiled.  Everyone got their costumes on and we all went to Mimi and Papa's trunk or treat.  The boys had a great time, although you don't get to see any pictures until Halloween.

Things About Bosten at 4:

-He is a dipper (ketchup, ranch, BBQ sauce, fry sauce, gravy, etc.)

-He has a potty mouth.  He knows what's ok or not ok to say, and he still says bad words all the time.  Of course, the second I say one of those words he calls me on it.  (Stupid, Shut Up, and Butt are some of his favorites).

-He still likes to snuggle with his Mama.

-He always wants to have a pair of socks on.

-He loves fruit.

-He loves Max and Ruby, Curious George, Minute to Win It, Wipeout, Doc McStuffins, and Mickey Mouse

-He would eat Mac and Cheese every single day for lunch if I would let him.

-He will do anything for ice cream.

-He loves chocolate milk.

-He's pretty attached to his stuffed puppy and the blanket my mom made for him when he was a baby.

-His belly laugh is adorable.

-He thinks he's pretty funny when he calls me a little girl.

-He loves helping in the kitchen.  Muffins are his favorite thing to make.

-At the doctor's off ice last week he was 43 inches tall, and weighed 41 lbs.

-He gets really mad if he doesn't get at least 2 big hugs from Daddy before he leaves for work.

-We can't imagine our family without him!

rough week

We've had a rough week around here.

First, last Sunday Bosten found a peanut and thought it would be a good idea to eat it.  You should probably know that Bosten is allergic to peanuts, and he knows better than to eat one.  But, he likes them (that's what he told Kyle) and decided to eat it, knowing he shouldn't.  Punk.

He started itching immediately, and this is what I saw when he told me what he'd done.  I have an Epi pen, just in case, but have never needed to use it (Sunday included).  His hives and itching got pretty bad, and I hope he remembers that WE DON'T EAT PEANUTS for the love.

Kyle's birthday was Tuesday.  We decided to go out to dinner to celebrate, but it wasn't that great since we were all starting to feel lousy.  Bummer of a birthday.  We gave him money for a new bike, a pair of new shoes, treats, and an itunes card.

Wednesday and Thursday were total misery for Kyle, Bosten and I.  I have no idea how Kaden escaped it, but we're thankful he didn't have to be miserable too.  We were literally flat, and I can't remember ever being any sicker.

After 3 separate trips to the doctor's office, we were all diagnosed with Strep.

Thankfully, they prescribed antibiotics, and we're feeling much better!
Just in time for Bosten's birthday....

fall break

Kaden and I went on a field trip last week, right before fall break.  It was fun to be with him and we had a good time.

We went to Park City one night.  Its always so fun to stay in a hotel, swim in the pool, and eat pizza.

We went to Gardner Village to check out all of the witches.  It was a beautiful day, but there were a million people there.

We went to Black Island Farms.  Its one of our fall traditions, and we really love it.  Uncle Ryan (and family), and Grandma came too.

Our other big news of the weekend:

We bought a house.

Its funny how things work out.  When we sold our Syracuse house, we didn't feel good about any of the houses we looked out (I'm sure much to the dismay of our poor real estate agent).  We decided to rent for awhile, and signed a 9 month lease for a home in Bountiful.  Almost 3 years later, to the day, we had the opportunity to buy the house.  We feel grateful for the opportunity to live so close to Kyle's work and in a great neighborhood.

More importantly?  We are done moving.  If you know our history, this is huge!  Moving all of those times served its purpose, but it was hard too.  Now we feel its time to settle....and start to paint.  I'm pretty sure the ink wasn't dry yet on all of the papers before we got to work.

(that's Kaden showing off on top of the ladder).

Oh, and one last thing.

The Beavers beat the Utes to go 6-0 on the season!
Go Beavs!

scheels

We've been playing this week with Devon and Michelle, who have been visiting from California.
We went to The Red Iguana, City Creek Center, The Quilted Bear, and Scheels.  We've been waiting to go check it out (Scheels), and it was really fun to go.

Bosten loved taking pictures by all of the "aminals".
Kaden wasn't interested at all.

We played a game of bowling:

We looked at fish and all of the other cool stuff they had:

The boys saw the ferris wheel and had to ride it.  The big boys weren't as excited, but were good sports and went.

The line was long, but well worth it to the little boys.

We will definitely be going back.

dear tiny prints

Its already getting to be that time of year again.  Its time to figure out family pictures, and more importantly, what to wear for family pictures and where to go.  Its a big deal.  Scratch that.  Its a huge deal.

Not only will these pictures be a keepsake for our family, but they will also be used for our
Holiday Christmas Cards.

I love that Tiny Prints already has their holiday cards available on their website.  I'm drooling.
So many cool choices.  Maybe even too many choices.  There are photo cards, flat cards, folded cards....There are options for different colors, different quantities of pictures, and different budgets.

You should definitely check the Christmas Cards out.

Don't you love them all?

Don't forget to check out their Special Offers Page
 p.s. don't forget to send me a card! :)

*This post is sponsored by Tiny Prints, however the opinions are my own.  I have used Tiny Prints before, and LOVED how everything turned out.

scary hill

Last night we took the boys on a family date to Scary Hill (aka Cherry Hill, dressed up for Halloween).  We had a great time miniature golfing, taking tractor rides, jumping in the bounce house, going through the maze, etc.

It was a beautiful fall night, and we had a great family date.
