so much snow

I'm the first to admit that we were hoping for a white Christmas.  When it started snowing on Christmas Eve, we were pretty excited.  The boys were excited to go out and play.  We thought we'd get ahead of the game by shoveling the driveway before heading out to Christmas Eve festivities down at my parent's house.

But, it didn't stop all night.  It was a little crazy (in spots) getting home, and it messed up having my parents come for Christmas morning.  It snowed for 3 days.
Enough is enough already.
I think we had something like 19 inches.

The one good thing about all of the snow was it made for some really great sledding.  Kyle found a great spot to go, and we went one afternoon.

This was right before the first run.  Everything looked good, until they were about half way down the hill and we saw the jump that they were going to hit just right.

It left a mark.

It didn't seem to slow us down.  We played for a long, long time.  We (Kyle and I) were ready to be done a lot sooner than the boys were.  We're are for sure going back.

Another day we went sledding with some of our cousins.  So fun too.

lights

We always go see the Layton lights, and this year was no different.  Our plan, usually, is to drive though the display and then get out and walk around to get a closer look.

In case you couldn't tell, that's a bear standing right behind us.

Kyle went too, but for some reason wasn't in any of the pictures.  Weird.
Anyway, Happy Christmas Eve!

cookies galore

One night this week we decorated cookies.  I had made the cookies earlier in the day, so that it would go much faster.  They boys were happy to let me do the frosting (after instructing me what colors they wanted) and then they got to work.

Pretty fun project!...and pretty fun eating too.

merry christmas...and a favor

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!  We hope you have a fantastic holiday.

If any of you happen to be visiting relatives in the next couple of weeks and hears of a neighbor or cousin or friend or anyone that is facing an unplanned pregnancy, would you please consider mentioning that our family is hoping to adopt?  We'd be happy to get your our blog/profile information that you can share.
Thank you so much!

dino museum

Its been a rough 3 weeks or so, and we needed a break.  So, we headed down to the dinosaur museum.
It was decked out for Christmas, which the boys thought was super funny.  We had a good time, which was exactly the point.

Not even too scary.

round one...

Kyle and I had a meeting this week, and Mimi and Aunt Debbie (who's in town visiting for a few days) came to watch the boys.  They were pretty excited to have them here.

I thought it would be fun for them to have something to do together, so I got a gingerbread village kit so they could do miniature gingerbread houses.

The boys said it was really fun to do it, but they were bummed that they didn't stay together.

Bosten's looks pretty good at the moment, but it was short lived.  You can see the disaster in Kaden's picture, and how he felt about it.  Its a good thing we've got plans to do another one.  Consider this the practice round.

o christmas trees

The boys both have little trees in their rooms.

It started by accident, but now its a tradition and they love them.  Kaden has an Army tree (clear lights with green and gold ornaments), so Bosten wanted/has that too.

Kaden hugged his tree for a picture, so Bosten thought he should too.
Cute brothers.

holiday ornaments

One of our family traditions is to get each member of our family a new Christmas ornament each year, and then they're the first ones that go on the tree.

2012
Bosten:  A Santa Soccer Player.
Kyle:  New House
Shelby:  A Brick of Tillamook Cheese
Kaden:  Lego Star Wars Storm Trooper

Its been a fun tradition, but even more fun is getting all of the ornaments out and talking about whose they are and what year it is from.  Let the Christmas fun begin!
