profile update

We talked to our caseworker this week, and she said she needed more of our profiles. That must be a good thing...right?! We hope so!

We can do two 8.5 by 11 pages:

I spent all afternoon updating pictures and making new pages. The old ones were WAY too busy...I don't know what I was thinking. I think simple, clean lines are much easier to look at. Plus, I want the pages to be about US and OUR FAMILY and not all the crazy stuff going on with paper, embellishments, etc.

We'll keep you posted!

20 and counting

Bosten is 20 months old today. I can't even believe it. My baby isn't much of a baby any more.

-He doesn't eat chicken nuggets any more.
He prefers a plain hamburger, with ketchup close by to dip.

-He sings all the time.
His favorites right now are Twinkle, Twinkle. You Are My Sunshine. Old MacDonald.

-He LOVES the "wador" and loves going to Cherry Hill.

-Daddy and "Shu-she" (that's Kaden...long story) are his best buddies.

-He's a Mama's boy.

-He loves reading books.

-He's talking like crazy, and saying a words together....like:
"Bye, Daddy", "Mama, need you.", "Shu-she...are you?"

-Calls himself Bostey

-Really loves Curious George and Mickey Mouse

We sure love this little boy!

water balloon baseball

Kaden brought home a really cute coupon book from Primary on Sunday for Kyle (thanks, Julie!). We looked through it and found a coupon for an evening of water balloon baseball. We decided that it would make a great FHE!

When Bosten went down for a nap, Kaden and I went out and filled up the bucket with water balloons....not sure how we lost some, but it was still plenty.

We (um, I mean Kaden) were so excited that it was hard to finish dinner. As soon as we were done we headed out to the backyard.

Bosten thought it was pretty funny. He loved just squeezing the balloons until they popped.

What a fun night! I'm sure we'll be doing this again.

an easy (and yummy) way to support adoption

Want to help support adoption in some small way? This Father's Day Weekend, June 19th - 20th, buy any Frosty at Wendy's and they'll donate 50¢ to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

YAY for a treat that happens to also be for a good cause.

We love adoption at our house.

first ride

Today was Bosten's first ride on Papa's tractor.

It was a little scary, but oh so fun.

even better

We've established that spring soccer has been really great.

Its even better when Mom makes a sign:

AND when Dad gets to come...along with Grandma (who is here from Colorado), Papa and Mimi, Logan, Cory, Lindz (of course-she's coaching) and all the kids.

Way to go, Orange Tigers!

I swear, there's never a dull moment around here.

slip slidin' away

We finally had a warm enough afternoon to break out the slip n' slide! Some of us (especially those named Kaden) have been waiting and asking about it every stinking day.

Kaden, of course, knew what to expect. Bosten had no idea, but thought it was pretty exciting to stand next to it and put his hands in the cold water.

No one was being very brave about being first, so Kyle took the plunge (clothes and all). The boys thought it was hillarious and it warmed everyone right up.

Eventually the boys took some turns and thought it was pretty good...not great because it was a little cold. Guess we'll be waiting for even warmer weather!

not too sure about this

I am so behind in our scrapbooks...as in I haven't done ANY since Bosten was born. How lame is that?! It seems like there's always so much to do with so little time. If I do have time to dig it all out, then I don't have time to finish something before its time to put it all away. The story of my life lately.

*Sigh

Anyway, my sister recently got into digital scrapbooking and swears that its the only way to go. Last week we spent the day at her house trying to figure it out and get started. Here's my first couple of attempts:

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. However, it literally took HOURS and at least 20 phone calls (no joke) to get them done. I had another layout, but it somehow disappeared. I have no idea where it went or what I do about it.

So, not too sure how I feel about it yet. I've done more scrapbooking this week than I have in the last 19 months though, so maybe I'm on to something.
