handcart days

We watched the handcart days parade in our usual spot...right in front of Daddy's work.

What good is a Utah parade without some missionaries in it.
Seriously.  So funny.

We also waved to some princesses and saw Army guys.

When we'd had enough parade, we walked over to the park for rides and treats.

We love celebrating the Pioneers!

float preview

We went to the Days of '47 float preview party.  It was a little sad since none of our cousins could go with us.  It seemed like there wasn't as many activities this year, and way more people but it was still fun.

Just when I had my little Ute fan back to being a Cougar, we ran into the Utes float and even won a t-shirt.
(for the record, he likes both BYU and the Utes at the moment).

We panned for gold, took a few pictures, voted on our favorite float, and covered our ears when the marching band went by.  Yep, good times.

best candy store ever

We went and checked out the new candy store at Station Park one day last week.
 It was pretty fun.

We played with all of their big stuff, and picked out a few treats to bring home.

Umm...I should say that we brought home a few regular size treats.
Ha.

and they're off...

My parents are officially on their way to Australia today.
They've spent the last 2 weeks training at the MTC, and they're ready to get to work.

We only said goodbye like five or six times because of Visa issues, etc....(which was no fun!)
but on our last "real" goodbye, Papa pulled a classic Papa and jumped/fell into the pool with his clothes on.  The kids went nuts and thought it was the greatest thing ever.

I'm keeping a blog for them of their adventures....link is on the sidebar on my blog roll if you're interested.

dinosaurs and jump ropes

We went down to Thanksgiving Point to check in on the dinosaurs.  Its been awhile since we've gone, and the boys always love to go.

Of course, its so much more fun when cousins come with us!

Then, we went and checked out the farmer's market.  This was my boys' first experience with a farmer's market and they loved it.  We sampled, we looked, we bought some homemade bread and fresh corn on the cob.

Then, we made our own jump ropes.  Super exciting and super fun (especially for five dollars)!
First, they each picked handles and then got to work.  Bosten just chose colors that he liked, Kaden did a pattern.

byu

Since Mimi and Papa are in the MTC, we thought it would be fun to do our annual trek down to BYU and to show them the MTC.  We had 4 vans, 4 Moms, 12 kids, and two strollers....we were kind of our own circus act, for sure.

My sister had sent my dad a text and told him that if they heard singing at a certain time outside the MTC, it was probably all of us.  They happened to have a break about the time we told him we'd be there, so we were able to give Mimi and Papa hugs and kisses and take a picture.

Then, it was off to BYU!  We went to the bookstore and got new football shirts and chocolate covered cinnamon bears (and Kaden got a new hat), ate lunch and had ice cream, and went bowling.  Super fun, but extra super fun with all of the cousins.

summer rain

We've had some pretty good rain showers in the last week or so, and the boys finally got their chance to go out and play in it.  They were running around, singing, and giggling the whole time until they were done.  Bosten kept yelling across the street to his little friend to come play too, but she wanted nothing to do with it.

Good times!
