Oregon!...Days 1 & 2

We just got back from a week in Oregon.  I'm breaking the trip up into several posts, or else it would be picture overload and waaay too long.

The first day was in the car.

The boys did well, and we stopped every couple of hours for a potty break and to stretch our legs.

It was exciting to see a caravan of Army vehicles on the road (like 13 or more in a row) and a field fire right next to us.  Seriously, we thought it was great.

After hours in the car, we all felt like this:

We stopped for the night, we went swimming in the hotel pool, the boys ate pizza and crashed.  Once they were asleep, Kyle ran out and grabbed Burgerville for us.
Blackberry shakes were in season (as well as Walla Walla Onion rings) and they were fabulous.

The next day we stopped at Multnomah Falls.  Kaden was not interested in hiking up to the bridge (too high and scary), but Bosten and Kyle did.

We drove around the city, showed the boys where Daddy worked in Portland, etc. and then headed to
my all time favorite Mexican food place.

No one else was really interested, so I got lunch to go.  It was sooo good.
Seriously, I about died.  I got a big salsa to bring home too.

We drove by the Portland temple, and went down to Woodburn to shop at the outlet malls.  Its exploded (in size) since we lived in the area, and we could have spent hours and hours (instead of just hours) there browsing.  We found some great deals.

We started heading south, and made a quick stop at the Beaver store in Keizer before heading to the coast.

We didn't buy anything, but we had fun looking around.  I didn't seriously even browse (knowing that we'd go to Tillamook Fred Meyer in a couple of days and always found stuff there).
I'm sad I didn't look around more.  More on that later.

We drove over to the coast, and were so excited to see this as our view from the hotel:

We dumped our stuff, grabbed our sweatshirts and headed right outside for a few minutes of fun.

We were surprised to find out the hotel had fire pits that they lit each night so families could roast marshmallows.  Of course, we were all over that.

Stay tuned for more...
