One year later

It was exactly a year ago that we packed up the Honda, and Kyle left for Utah. All three of us were bawling as he drove away. It was a really hard day for all of us...not knowing for sure when we'd be together again and being STRESSED about selling our house (Kaden and I were staying in Oregon until we sold the house...Kyle was starting his new job in Utah and staying with his brother, Ryan)We have always sold our houses (yep, that's plural...our Utah house is #4) by owner and we really wanted to sell this one that way too...we knew it was a great house: practically brand new, lots of upgrades already done, and well taken care of...we just weren't getting any lookers. I had been posting an ad on craig's list pretty regularly when someone happened to see the ad. They came to look and we had a miracle! They wanted to pay full price, pay with cash, and wanted us out within 2 weeks. Kaden knew that we were waiting to sell our house before we could go be with Daddy. As soon as he heard that we were packing he grabbed a box, went into his room, and started packing all of his books and toys.

I gave my 2 weeks notice at work, got everything packed, and we were on our way.

Its been a really hard year, mostly for me. But, there have been some really fun things that we've been able to do as a result of being here:

like having SNOW on Christmas eve!
and being close to so many temples

and Kaden getting to play hockey!
Its been an adventure and we feel truly blessed.

I'm happy you are here! I know it is hard, especially out here...but I think things are getting better and I hope you feel the same! If nothing else, we have all learned some amazing lessons. Thanks for being a great friend!

I loved the big thunderstorm we had this last weekend. I'll bet it reminded you or Oregon. So glad you are here, though. It seems like EVERYONE is trying to pack up and leave our neighborhood. Standing in my driveway I can see MORE than a half a dozen for sale signs. PLEEEEASE stay for a while more!

I am glad you are here as well. We missed you on Monday we will catch you next time. Also I will keep you updated on anything Pirate like that we do. Pirates are a big thing with two VERY boy boys in the household. Kid #1 has to be the pirate-ess :)
