trouble

When we can't find Bosten, and its quiet, it usually means trouble.

After looking all over the house for him, we finally found him:

Its a good thing he's so cute!

He was pretty stinkin' proud of himself too...that is, until he got caught.
I'm happy to report that Kaden's double ear infection is gone.
Bosten's double ear infection is gone.
My sinus and ear infections are gone.
Its about time!  Our house has been no fun at all the past few weeks.

kaden's big day

We celebrated Kaden's birthday all day yesterday!

He woke up to a new chair and a bunch of Star Wars guys from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kerry.  He was thrilled, to say the least.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch with some of his cousins!
(Thankfully, I'd seen a great deal on City Deals, plus we had coupons)

We had a great time eating pizza, playing games, singing to Kaden, eating Army cupcakes, and redeeming all of our tickets for some treasures.

Kaden was dying to open his gifts.  It was pretty fun to watch him.

Don't you just love the boys' faces in this one?
(By the way, the gift was Army legos...)

We played Minute To Win It games, with our own host Bosten!

The first game was pulling Kleenex, one at a time, out of the box:

Next was the one where you had to jump and dance to get the balls out of the empty Kleenex box (that was tied to their waists):

The third game was stacking 3 dice on a popscicle stick:

Finally, we had them stack Oreos on their foreheads:

Not sure why I don't have Bosten attempting it.
Anyway, Kaden chose root beer floats for his treats.
FYI...they taste even better when they're in an Army cup!

It was a fun, busy day!  We love him and are so glad he's a part of our family!

unbelievable

Kaden is 6 today.
Six!

I can't even believe it.  Its Captain Insane-O for sure!

Its funny how after years of wanting him and waiting for him, one phone call changed our lives forever!
Happy Birthday Kaden!

sick of being sick

Kaden has been sick all week.  Sick as in, flat out in our bed for days.

Last night, in addition to his other symptoms, he was crying because his ears hurt.
I took him to the doctor this morning and he's got a double ear infection.
Poor kid.

The day wasn't a total loss for him, though, because he got a Valentine in the mail from one of the girls in last year's preschool class.  He was pretty darn excited....and so it begins. :)

This cute little monkey woke up from his nap today with a fever.  I've been waiting for him to get sick too...it was only a matter of time.

He has started saying,
"Thanks, honey!"
when you give him anything (his sippy cup, a book, whatever)

It makes me giggle every time...and giggles are good when everybody is sick and grumpy.

i got nothin'

I wish I had something fun or cute to blog about.  Its been a week, which is a long time for me...sorry Grandparents and birth families!

I'm happy to report that we're alive, and hanging in there.  Here's what's been happening, but be prepared, its nothing exciting.

-Kaden is sick at the moment....flat out, which if you know him very well, means that he really doesn't feel well.

-Bosten is saying, "Oh boy" all the time.  Its funny to hear it come out of his mouth.

-Kaden and I have been working on addition and learning how to read.

-I did an adoption presentation in my parents ward last week as part of their 5th Sunday combined RS/Priesthood 3rd hour.  Someone from their stake talked about adoption services that LDS Family Services provides (mostly to the birth mothers but also to adoptive couples) and then I shared my experiences and testimony of adoption.

-We had a combined Super Bowl party/birthday party at my parents house on Sunday.  Papa fired up the BBQ and we had hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, with a bunch of other really good stuff.

Next week is a big week around here, so hang in there....that is if nothing else happens fun and exciting before then!

planes are so cool

Yesterday we took the boys to the Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum.
We had a great time and LOVED checking out all the cool stuff.

Kaden was really interested in everything...he checked out all of the planes, the bombs, the uniforms, the pictures...you get the idea.  He loved every minute.

Bosten kept saying, "The planes are so cool."

We are definitely going back sooner than later!
