We woke up the next morning, anxious to get ready and get to the hospital to see the baby. Before we could even do that, the translator called and said K. and the baby were being released right then. They would bring the baby to us at the hotel.
What the?!?
So, less than fifteen minutes later they showed up at the hotel. We got to meet K. for the first time (we'd talked to her on the phone and texted several times before our trip). They were there less than five minutes. Sooo different than our other placements.
Anyway, as soon as they left everyone was wanting to hold the baby.
We decided on Harper Malia Robb.
Malia is Hawaiian for Mary, which is after my grandmother and Kyle's mom.
The hotel where we were was a total joke, in more ways than one, so Kyle jumped up to see if there was somewhere else in town we could stay. That was actually a pretty big job...we were in the middle of nowhere. I'm not kidding. But, thankfully, there was and we packed up and moved down the street. The new place was super great to us, and we were there 4 days waiting to see the judge.
I was scrolling through my Instagram feed (on one of the instances where we could get Internet connection) and saw that our neighbors had posted this:
I admit, that I totally deserved something after chalking their driveway with BYU trash talk after BYU beat the Aggies last year. However, I think spray paint in the grass is waaay over the top (and not cool since it now will be there all winter...maybe I should pray for snow).
We just hung out those first couple of days
We drove around and found this...we can always find a Beavers reference! Bosten jumped out to take a picture, so that we could send it to Papa in Australia.
