I love Pinterest.

Seriously, I've gotten (and used) tons of ideas.  This week we were looking for something fun to do, and decided to make lava bottles.

Here's the monkeys with their water bottles:

They were super easy.  

First, dump the water out of the bottles and fill them just over half full with vegetable oil.

Next, fill up the rest of the bottle with water (leave at least an inch at the top).

Add 10 drops of food coloring:

 Last, take an Alka-seltzer tablet and break it into four pieces.  One at a time, drop into the bottle:

That's it.  The kids loved it.
