field trip

Kaden and I have been reading one of the "The Hardy Boys" books.  We read a couple of pages every night before he goes to bed, and then talk about what's happening.

In this one, Frank and Joe Hardy are on a case, which leads them to a cemetery to find some clues.  Kaden was really interested in a cemetery (actually kind of funny, when you think of Kyle's profession) and asked if we could go check one out.

He asked lots of questions and then we looked for:
-different shapes of headstones (our favorite was a heart)
-pictures on the headstones (temples, trees, dogs, and even of those who'd passed away)
-names that started with different letters (I'd ask him to find a name that starts with "C" or whatever)

What a fun family outing!! Seriously, it is one of my favorite things to do. :) I have the coolest set of old skeleton keys I found in an old cemetery. Salt Lake has to be my fav so far.

Hmm, that is an interesting field trip! Kind of neat actually. Our kids get regular trips to the cemetary where my parents are buried (and Holland actually loves it), but visiting new and different ones could be cool, I'll have to do that.
