nine

Kaden had a birthday on the 17th. You already know that we did some celebrating early
(Lego movie, dinner, games).

There was no school Monday, so we had the whole day to celebrate. He came downstairs to Skylanders decorations (his request....oops, no pictures).

He was happy and excited to open some gifts.

He is a lucky kid. We hung out and then went to see the Lego movie again...because you know,
it was Awesome.

We met dad after work and went to Rumbi for dinner.

Then it was home for cake. We had someone make the Skylanders portal, and it turned out so cool.

Such a fun day to celebrate our favorite nine year old.

On Tuesday, they celebrated him at school and we took treats.

valentines day

We had a fun, full day on Friday.

Kyle took the day off, so he and Bosten hung out while I went to school with Kaden. I did my usual Friday volunteer stuff and then helped with the class party.

I was in charge of Valentines memory match. I also helped with lei making.

The boys (Kyle and Bos) brought Ms. Allred and I dirty diet cokes to school...now that's love.

After school we raced home to Face Time with Mimi and Papa, then headed out for more fun.

Kyle and the boys met Ryan, Colby and Sadie for the Lego movie.

I had a couple of hours by myself.  It was long overdue.

This is how I spent my time.

Crazy that it's been 60 degrees here for days!

After the movie we all went to Chick Fil A for dinner...

...and then went and played games at Ryan's.

It was awesome!

on my phone

Here's the latest.

Kaden got an award at school for meeting his 2nd term reading goal. Wahoo!

The boys created their own basketball hoop with paper and tape.

We caught Bosten with his hand over his heart during the National Anthem before the Super Bowl.

Lunch date to Costco.

We went on a field trip to DQ (letter Q). It was awesome and fun.

Kaden did a little research on a famous American. Can you guess who he chose?

 (Jackie Robinson)

Another month down for our favorite missionaries...still too many to go.

5 year check up

Bosten had his check up a few days ago. He was really cute (and a little nervous) about the whole thing, but he did great.

He wanted to sit on my lap when we were waiting to get called back.

Just hanging out and waiting for the doctor.

He is in the 97th percentile for height, and 95th for weight. He officially passed Kaden for weight, but that wasn't surprising.

He had one immunization, and didn't even have one tear. What a big kid!
We are ready for kindergarten. Yikes!

yay for cousins

We went and watched Riley play basketball. We cheered really loud, especially when she was in the game.

We went and got slurpees afterwards and went to the park. It was cold, but fun.

ice ice baby

Last Friday, Kyle was off and Kaden had early out at school. It was sunny and 40 degrees, so we decided to go up Midway and check out the ice castle that we'd heard so much about.

It was pretty cool! We got to check out the crazy icicles, walk through the tunnels and sing songs from Frozen. I'm kidding about the singing part.

It was totally worth doing, although we wish we would have known to wear boots.( I'm sure the ground was the way it was for liability reasons.)

We grabbed dinner on the way home. That's not a huge deal, but them wanting to sit by each other was.

Goofballs.

behind the scenes

Bosten and I went on a field trip to the movie theater. We got to sit in the D Box seats to see how they work, watch previews and eat popcorn, go see where the movies project onto the screens, check out the IMAX screen, and go behind the concessions counter to see where/how everything is made.

He loved it and I thought it was pretty interesting too. We can't wait to go to another movie and tell dad and Kaden all about it.
