we are alive

I obviously haven't dumped photos off my phone/camera lately.
Here's what's been going on for the last couple of weeks:

Bosten loves preschool.  It's "a million bagillion awesome" according to him.
He goes 2 days a week, and gets to take show/tell on Thursdays.  This was one of the projects he did during the week he learned about the letter D (its a dinosaur cave with dinosaurs).

Second grade is going well for Kaden.  Bosten and I volunteer on Fridays.  I correct all of the tests for the week, record them in the grade book, file papers in the kids' notebooks, and whatever else Ms. Allred has for me to do.  Last week, we made a bulletin board full of monster stories.

Our friends across the street are big Utah State Aggies fans.  So, on the night they played the Cougars we,
umm, decorated their driveway for them.  We made a sign for the garage too, but it was too dark when we hung it up so didn't get a picture of it hanging.  It must have been a sign of things to come.  The Cougars won and the neighbors owe us pizza after betting us the Aggies would win!

We went to the high school homecoming parade on Friday afternoon.  The boys loved it and we came home with a ton of treats.

We went and saw a movie with some of our favorite people.  I told them they had to take one nice picture and then they could do a second one making faces for Mimi and Papa.

'Tis the season for us to be sick.  Bosten has had a cold for a few days, which makes his asthma flare up too.  Poor kid.

And now, you're up to date.

black island farm

Kyle had a Saturday off, so we decided to head up to one of our favorite fall activities:  Black Island Farms.
Its a little early in the season, but we knew Kyle didn't have another Saturday coming up for awhile (plus it was a beautiful afternoon).

On our way, we stopped at the mall for dinner.  We like going there when we're up in that direction, because everyone can get what they want and everyone is happy.

Bosten, Kyle and I had Chick Fil A.

Kaden had Osaka.

Then, it was off to Syracuse.

We love all of the activities we get to do:

the big hay slides

the grain shoot slide

tractor/animal train

playing tic tac toe and checkers with the baby pumpkins

making "snow angels" and swimming in the corn

being king of the mountain

watching pig races

hanging on for dear life on the tire swing

and of course, the actual corn maze

As you can see, we had a great time.  We were bummed to not go with Ryan and Kerry (and kids) this year, but hopefully next year we can make it work.

lately

Here are some random pictures from my phone lately.

What started out as a random surprise for Kaden's lunch, has turned into a daily love note.

We had Cafe Rio for lunch one day (doesn't happen very often...the Cafe Rio part, not the lunch part. Ha.
Pork Salads are the best.

Bosten and I volunteer at school on Fridays this year.

Having birthday treats at school for someone's birthday resulted in a blue tongue.

A "real life police officer" came to Bosten's preschool class one day.
So exciting.

Another preschool day, they got to make bread.

Mimi better hurry up and come home (its not happening for a looong time still) because we've
worn a hole in our favorite blanket.

good idea, bosten

Whenever we go to school, we have to check in at the office and grab a sticker that prints after we sign into the computer.  Bosten usually grabs it, peels the paper off the back and thinks its his.
Which is fine.

The goofball doesn't usually put it on his shirt.  He's come up with a couple of better ideas:

temple quarry trailhead

On Labor Day we took the boys "up in the mountains" to see where the pioneers got the "rocks for the big temple".

It was fun to look around at all of the huge rocks, see marks in the rocks from the pioneers, and even find a couple of "real temple rocks" to bring home.
