birth mother day

Today we are so thankful for our boys' birth mothers.

We are praying and hoping to find another birth mother.

Answers:

1.  My parents left me with a babysitter  (the Nichols) to attend some family party.  Lindsey was a baby, and they took her with them, so I had to be 2.  Anyway, I was sitting on their horse with my cousin Angie.  The horse bent over to get something to eat out of the yellow bucket that was in the grass.  Angie fell off the side (and was caught), I went over the head and broke my arm.

2.  Shoulder length, with bangs.

3.  Tetherball or wallball.

4.  Mrs. Brow, 4th grade

5.  Family carnival in the backyard, shaving cream fights with my dad, kicking goals between the 2 trees in the back yard.

the mystery bag

The mystery bag has come home from school with Kaden several times this year. 

The kids take turns bringing something from home to share with the class.  

They give 3 clues about their mystery item, and then the kids get to guess what it is.

I don't know how it is at the other kids' houses, but at our house, our goal is to trick everyone.  We don't want them to guess. 

Here were the clues that he drew:

1.  Its brown.

2.  It has a circle base.

3.  It flies like an airplane.

Any guesses?  He was thrilled to come home and tell us that no one guessed.

If you guessed a Star Wars droid on his flying thing (Kaden could tell you exactly what its called), then you're right.

fun at the farm

The boys have really been talking lately about going to see all of the baby animals at Thanksgiving Point.  We picked up Kaden from school on Friday, and got on the long road (Its not really that long, but that's what the boys call the freeway.)

Besides the fact that there were a million school groups there, it was a really good day to go.

We took a tractor ride.

 

We rode a pony.

We saw several baby animals...

horses, cows, goats, chicks, bunnies, pigs, llamas, ducks, and lambs.

We had a great time.

p.s.....not sure what's up with all of Bosten's funny faces.  In just about every picture he's doing something silly.  Funny kid.

fast fact friday #11

I'm a day late.

Questions:

1.  What/where was your first job?

2.  How old were you?

3.  How did you get there?

4.  How long did you work there?

5.  What did you do there?

Answers:

1.  Unofficially, I'm sure it was babysitting.  

Officially, I worked for my dad at Molalla Thiftway (grocery store).

2.  You had to be 16 to be official, but I know I was there before that...doing magazines, cleaning etc.

3.  Walked, ride from my parents, drive

4.  I worked every summer when I was in school.  Worked when I was waiting to get into school and when I was trying to pass board exams.  I was there off and on until they sold the store and retired (July 2007).

5.  At one time or another, I pretty much did everything...sorted bottles, cleaned, bagged groceries, cashier, worked in the produce department, and a bunch of other odds and ends.

letters

Kaden's class has been writing letters to each other.  They put stamps on them (stickers) and its a big deal to be the mailman and get to deliver the letters.

I'm dying to see some of Kaden's letters, but since they get delivered in class I've only gotten to see the ones he gets.

his new obsession

Yes, its true.  Kaden has a new obsession.

Legos.

Not just any Legos.  His favorites are Star Wars Legos.

Oh man.

He has been saving his money and searching and watching eBay for several weeks, and finally decided that he wanted to spend his money.  They came today.

                                                 

     As you can see, he's building his droid army (and doing his listening stuff).
