1st grade program

Kaden had his singing program yesterday.  They had 2 performances:  one in the morning for the school (and any parents that wanted to come) and one in the evening.

Bosten and I went to the morning show, and Mimi, Papa, Kyle, Bosten and I went to the evening show.

They were told to wear red, white, or blue shirts.  We decided to do both.

The program was cute, and Kaden did a great job.

ncaa tourney bracket

This year, I decided that I wasn't going to make a tournament bracket on the wall this year
(remember this?)

We just got done painting and I didn't want to mess with it.
FYI, I didn't mention it to Kaden or else we would have made one for sure!  :)

Kyle had the great idea to make a permanent one.  He even brought a board home from work.

I used spray paint to paint the board.

I used jumbo popsicle sticks for the games.

Once I got them cut, I used hot glue to attach them to the board.

Here it is.  Same great madness, and I never have to make another one.

Gone are the days of Jimmermania, but we still love March Madness!

cub scouts

Since Kaden turned 8, he can now go to Cub Scouts.  So fun!  They meet every other week, which is just about perfect.

His first week, they went to the fire station.

Mimi sewed on all of his patches.  He's pretty excited.

The next time he went (this last week), they made stencils and then used them to make pillow cases.  Of course, this kid made a minecraft one.  So fun!

instagram pics

Here's a few of my recent Instagram pictures (by the way, I'm @hope2adoptbaby on IG).

I went with my parents to a BYU hoops game.  It was a great game, but BYU fell short.

We celebrated my birthday with dinner at Johnny Rockets and treats from Sweet Tooth Fairy.

We've been painting.  We got the family room done, and now are working on the upstairs hall.
(I hate tape that peels...so annoying!)

This is by far the cheapest I've ever gotten out of Costco.
For real.

Its finally spring!  Hallelujah!

I did dental health classes to all of the 1st grade.  We talked about brushing, flossing, etc. and I made these toothbrush charts for all of the kids.

Bosten and I had a lunch date.  He loves Costa Vida, and he and Daddy got me a gift card for my birthday.

Looks comfy.

kaden's baptism

This cute little boy got baptized on Saturday.

We just missed our stake's day for February, and it was a long wait until March.

He's been pretty excited and a little nervous about the whole thing.  We got to the church a little early so we could take a couple of pictures and get dressed.

He was pretty excited by those who came to be there and those who participated:
Mimi and Papa (Mimi bore her testimony)
Bluths
Sheffields
Lagas
Grandma (gave closing prayer)
Ryan and family (Ryan and Tanner were the witnesses)
Ottleys

I don't know why I don't have any pictures of anyone else.  Weird...and a little lame.  There's a picture of Grandma and Kaden on Facebook, if we're friends.

When it was time to do the actual baptism, he got a little freaked out by everyone looking at him.  It probably was only a minute or two (but felt like at least an hour), before we talked him into closing his eyes so he didn't see people watching.  Kyle turned his (Kaden's) back to everyone, and then he was good to go.

He had a huge, happy smile on his face as he was getting out of the water.
Kyle did the confirmation, with Ryan, Papa, Cory, Logan, Dave and Bro. Homer in the circle.

We had cookies at the church.  He thought having everyone over to the house would be too loud and crowded and crazy.  Cookies were good.

We are so proud of him.

happenings

Bosten and I worked on a project together last week.

I needed to get this quilt hung on the wall.
Bosten took a couple of pictures of me holding it up so that I could see a couple of different heights.  They were blurry, but I wish I wouldn't have deleted them.  They actually were pretty helpful, blurry and all.

Here it is:

Pretty good work.

Bosten was really sick for about a week.  They thought it might be pneumonia, but thankfully it wasn't.

Our little helper making pancakes.  He thinks he's big stuff doing it pretty much on his own.

This is a big week for Kaden.  He's getting baptized on Saturday.

We are so proud of him.

mission call

My parents got their mission call on Thursday afternoon.

They waited until everyone could be there before they opened it.

They were called to the
Adalaide Australia Mission
reporting July 8, 2013

Everyone is pretty excited.  Kaden is super excited because he wants to go visit them and see real kangaroos.  Bosten wants to go on a big airplane.
