fireworks...at home

Saturday night we wanted to do some small fireworks at home with the boys (we were doing a much bigger show with my family on the 4th). We had been up so late the night before, we decided to do them before it got dark. The boys didn't care one bit!

The boys loved every minute!

Kaden wasn't a big fan of the ones with whistles!

Bosten was ticked that I wouldn't let him get up and touch them!

family reunion

On Saturday, we got to meet some of Kyle's Dad's siblings. Kyle hasn't seen his aunts and uncles for a million years, and I'd never met them. We got together at Cherry Hill (our favorite place in the world right now) for lunch, and then swimming. Kyle had to work Saturday, but was able to come over and visit.

The whole gang...the boys with their Dad and their kids

It was nice to put names and faces together...It was REALLY nice to swim and play with more than just our little family.

carnival rides are fun

We expected the parade (see above post) to be about an hour. When it was still going strong almost 2 hours later, we decided to bail so that we could get to the carnival and have some fun before heading home.

Kaden was super excited. Bosten didn't know what to expect, but soon got really into it too.
They rode 4 or 5 rides (mostly together) and loved every minute.

No Bosten on the rollercoaster...he and Daddy went to the carousel!

We shared a couple of sno-cones when we were done and headed for home. Definitely a successful day!

best parade ever

Friday night we went down to the Riverton parade. It was, according to Kaden, the best parade ever. I'm not sure if it was the best ever, but it was pretty darn fun.

Thank goodness for those fun snaps when we were waiting for it to start!

It was so stinkin' exciting that we were jumping up and down!

All of the cousins were there, which made it even more fun. (Notice Kaden covering his ears? He's not a big fan of loud noise!)

Bosten thought it was pretty cool too.

Only in Utah!

Cosmo was there too, which was SUPER exciting! I love how Kaden's waving to him.

Kaden said the highlight of his whole life was seeing the Army tank roll down the street (he's really been into Army stuff lately) and having his picture taken with it!

profile update

We talked to our caseworker this week, and she said she needed more of our profiles. That must be a good thing...right?! We hope so!

We can do two 8.5 by 11 pages:

I spent all afternoon updating pictures and making new pages. The old ones were WAY too busy...I don't know what I was thinking. I think simple, clean lines are much easier to look at. Plus, I want the pages to be about US and OUR FAMILY and not all the crazy stuff going on with paper, embellishments, etc.

We'll keep you posted!

20 and counting

Bosten is 20 months old today. I can't even believe it. My baby isn't much of a baby any more.

-He doesn't eat chicken nuggets any more.
He prefers a plain hamburger, with ketchup close by to dip.

-He sings all the time.
His favorites right now are Twinkle, Twinkle. You Are My Sunshine. Old MacDonald.

-He LOVES the "wador" and loves going to Cherry Hill.

-Daddy and "Shu-she" (that's Kaden...long story) are his best buddies.

-He's a Mama's boy.

-He loves reading books.

-He's talking like crazy, and saying a words together....like:
"Bye, Daddy", "Mama, need you.", "Shu-she...are you?"

-Calls himself Bostey

-Really loves Curious George and Mickey Mouse

We sure love this little boy!
