This week...

Bosten had his first popcicle! Kaden and I shared with him and he LOVED it
(what's not to love about Otter Pops?!)
There was a new episode of Curious George on this week. As you can probably imagine, we were SO EXCITED. Both boys snuggled in our bed and watched it when they woke up.
Kyle was off on Saturday, which doesn't happen too often. Kaden woke up and told Dad, "this day is crying out for doughnuts!" (a line from Curious George). Kyle being such a good daddy took him to get doughnuts for a treat.
Even Bosten got to taste the frosting...who can resist ORANGE frosting?!

Finally, yesterday was the first game of Spring Soccer. It was pouring, so Bosten and I didn't go to the game. Kyle said Kaden was so excited. Kyle yelled, "GO KADEN!" one time and gave him 2 thumbs up. Kaden ran right up and said, "Dad, next time say GO SHUGGIE!!". So, so funny! (Shuggie is Kaden's nickname...it all started when he was a baby and Riley (cousin) called him Sugar, Shuggs, Shuggie. It has stuck. In fact, when people ask Kaden his name its a toss up if he'll say Shuggie or Kaden.) Go Fire Dragons! Go Shuggie!

Where does he get this?

My conversation with Kaden this morning:

Me: Kaden, why don't you wear the underwear that has stars on it?

Kaden: Why Mom?

Me: Because you're a star.

Kaden: Oh....well, why don't I wear my Incredibles ones since I'm incredible?

Me: (Laughing) Good idea, Kade.

Oh baby!

We were completely thrilled to hear this week that our friends, David, Heather and Holland (remember they're the ones that took care of Bosten those first 10 days) have adopted a baby boy! Ryder David Jensen was born on Saturday, and brought home on Monday. Its been a long, stressful time for their family, but we're so happy for them. If you want another tear jerker story, click on their link (David and Heather) to get the details.

Congratulations! We love you!

I don't know if I can say this enough...Adoption is a hard road for everyone involved. Yet, SO WORTH IT and a miracle. Adoption is a miracle!

Again

For those of you who've known us for awhile, this won't be a surprise at all....
Yes, that's SNOW. Crazy, spring, Utah weather! Anyway....
WHY you ask?!
Honestly, lots of reasons.
-We're getting things in order for baby #3 (no, things haven't changed and we're still in limbo with Bosten's adoption). Spring is a WAY better time to try and sell than later, so we're going for it.
-Interest rates and prices are down, which means we can afford to live closer to Kyle's work (which he's glad about, especially on those nights where he's on call and out all night).
-I'm tired of the hour commute (each way) down to see my parents and sisters. We go down at least 2 times a week, so anything we do will be closer than we are now.
Those are the big ones. We're doing it by owner. We've been really lucky with our other 3 houses and have done it by owner each time. Yes, we know the market is different now and there are a million houses for sale (as any of the realtors would tell you that have called...even though we say we're not interested in an agent). We'll see.

Better late than never

I'm happy to report that everyone is finally feeling better around here! In fact, the whole family went to all of church on Sunday...that hasn't happened for weeks. Anyway, here's the boys' new Easter shirts. (Kaden had the hardest time keeping his eyes open with the flash!) Aren't they cute?

Did you know?

6% of the population is adopted

BUT, 60% are touched by adoption in some way.
Love it. We love adoption.
